  1. Love this app. It’s ease of use is perfect BUT without being able to extract the audio it’s pretty useless for me. Can I do this? If not do you plan on adding it?

    • Yes, very soon you can export/share your recordings with just a few simple taps. That is exactly the feature we are working on now and it won’t take long until it shows up on your phone.

    • This is my second comment. I have tried several times to use the app on my watch and it will not start recording. I even powered off and on the watch before I tried to use it.

      • So sorry for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience with this issue. We are pushing a fix to the App Store tonight. Apple should make it available to update in the next couple of days.

    • In the list of recordings, you can slide a recording over to the left and you will see the delete button there, just as you would in the mail app, for example.

      • Thanks for your speedy replies. The deleting works great, and I can record on the watch now, but how do you stop the recording on the watch? The only way I seem to be able to stop the recording is by pushing the icon on my Iphone. I’m going to love this app as I use a memo app all the time. Just need to know how to stop the app now. I was also wondering how I can ask Suri to record a memo with your app. Thanks.

  2. Hi. icloud drive support is the only missing feature. I just bought your app and gave a 4 star rating and review too. Pls add icloud saving feature. SimpleMic app has it. It saves the recordings and makes it hassle free

  3. I just wrote a glowing review for your app. Thanks for developing it. I researched how to put an app in Glances and I’m wondering if under Mic’d in the apple watch besides “Show app on apple watch” you plan to add “show in glances” This would be wonderful and make the app a lot easier to use on the fly. Thanks.

    • Thanks for the review! That really helps us get visability in the App Store.
As for glances…yes I am working on a glance right now and I’ll update the app as soon as its ready.

  4. Love the app but need some help.

The playback audio is always coming through the iPhone. I read that you had an option for it to come through the watch. I must be daft because I cannot find the option. 😦

    • Glad to hear you’re loving the app!

As to the audio playback, as of right now, Apple only allows the watch to control the phone’s mic and speaker. This means we can’t record from the watch’s mic or play from its speaker. For now, if you select a recording on the watch, it just makes it play on the phone. BUT, this is going to change as soon as Apple releases watchOS 2 in the fall. When that happens, I will have an update ready that allows recording from the watch’s mic, playing from the watch’s speaker, a complication for the watch face and a glance – so there are easy shortcuts to recording, many performance improvements, etc. Can’t wait to have full access so I can bring you some really great features.

      • Thank you for the expeditious reply.

LOL, I was wondering how it was possible that you had access to the mic or speaker when all other developers stated that they didn’t. So in essence, the app is merely a remote for the app on the phone which is picking up my voice from within the carry case. No wonder the voice is a wee bit muffled. I assumed it was due to the grade of mic and compromizes on audio quality for data transfer to the iPhone.

I look forward to your next product once OS 2.0 becomes a reality.

        Best regards,

        Barry

  5. One request and one other question….

It would be great as others have asked for glances capability and also how do I launch this app with Siri? It refuses to recognize the word mic’d or microphone as an installed app.

    Like

    • I just say “Open Mic” to siri and that seems to work for me.

As far as glances go, what would you like to see there?
Should it be a shortcut to launch mic and start recording?
Do you have other wishes for it to perform?

  6. “Open Mic” vs. launch mic works brilliantly where your app is concerned. Worked perfectly on the first attempt.

Apart from having a shortcut to the app in glances (optional immediate start recording or not), it would be nice to delete recordings from the watch without having to dig out the phone.

Kudos for coming up with this idea ahead of all of the other app developers who have recording apps in the store. Although its not ideal (due to Apples limitations on developers), it does the job and you’ve wrapped it into a lovely, simple user friendly package.

    Best regards,

    Barry

  7. Awesome app. I love the design, and the fact that it doesn’t ask you for a file name when done with the recording. Perfect for taking notes in the car. A question though: does it support Bluetooth, at least for playback? For what I see (well… hear), it seems to always playback with the speaker, even if I have a Bluetooth headset connected, which doesn’t always make it convenient to listen to the notes I’ve taken.

    • Apple does not currently allow recording directly from the watch or it would have been there :). That is something that will be available when they release watchOS 2 to the public. You can definitely expect an update to support it shortly after that.

      • Good to know about when you’ll be able to record with the apple watch. I continue to love your app. Works very well. Like the style and design as well. Thanks.

  9. Hi,

    1) OS9 Compatibility. Normally I have the app to auto record on launch. After OS9 update, it’s not letting me stop the recording at all ! Yikes !

    2) What’s the way to backup, email or send the 30 minute files? There should be a way to send those somehow.

    Thanks !

    • I hope you were able to fix the app after the update…I’m not seeing that issue in particular, but I did have a ton of issues with my watch in general after OS2. My battery was dead in about 5 hours. Eventually, I unpaired and reinstalled everything and things were peachy again.

As for #2, You could share the files using the share button, although if you have a lot that can be tedious. Right this minute, I’m working on allowing iTunes file sharing. That way, you can hook up your phone to iTunes and move all you files to you computer to do what you want with them.

  10. Hi, any chance of getting any information about what will be in the next update and when you anticipate to have it in the store?

    Like

    • I am currently working on adding iTunes file sharing, so that it will be easy to move all your recordings to your computer if you wish. That should be ready very soon. In the meantime, I will also be porting the watch app to run native on watch OS2 and that will take a bit longer, but hopefully I won’t be sitting down to a sumptuous turkey feast without mic’d running native on the watch. There are a lot of additional little enhancements and tweaks as well that will make the experience better that I’d rather not give away at the moment.
Do you have any other suggestions or requests?

  11. i agree with @alanbaxter15, in iOS9, with app set to auto-record on launch, the app will not allow access to settings page or allow you to stop the recording…it just auto-records and does not stop.

  12. I downloaded the mic’d app a couple months ago and it worked great for awhile. Once I downloaded a new software update on my iphone 6 plus suddenly the ap does not work. I click on the ap and it opens and appears to immediately start recording but I can’t stop it and I cannot get back to the files I have saved on the ap. I have to shut off the phone and turn it back on to stop the ap from recording and I can’t access anything that was recorded. I recorded some important things last night but have no way of accessing them. Is there a fix for this? If not, I would like my money back as the app is useless on my phone at this point. Would also prefer to speak to a customer service rep.

    • So sorry the app isn’t working quite right at the moment. It seems to be affecting only those users that had the automatic recording turned on, and something Apple changed in iOS 9 breaks it. I do have a fix just about ready and should be pushing an update to the app store any day now. I’m in the testing phase and want to be sure that the update works for everyone and that it protects all your recordings. It’s a one man team here, so that makes me your customer service rep. If you want to continue a conversation with me, feel free to email me at micdfeedback@gmail.com.

  13. I had a quick question. I couldn’t find an answer anywhere. Can you use the apple watches mic to record? Like instead of the phones. Thank you.

  14. Any chance you might add auto sync via iCloud so I can back up recordings and hear them on my computer. If it did this would be perfect and become my go to app for audio notes.

    • I am about to push an update that will allow you to use iTunes file sharing, where you connect your phone to the computer and can see your files in iTunes, so that the files can be transferred in bulk that way. iCloud support will be coming eventually.

  15. Without a doubt one of the most useful apps for the Apple Watch going. Really good job on creating a polisjed version kr something so obvious yet unfulfilled and so necessary but absent for so long – making my life easier!!please make sure you have a revenue model that can support you in the future so you don’t wind up going out of business because you charge too little one time. I can’t handle going back to life without this app. Five star app store review supporting that idea.

Great job. Seriously handy. Any way to fire up already recording when kaunched from apple watch complication (only when launched from complication)?! Keep up the great work.

    • Hi Edward,
Sorry it took me so long to reply. It means so much to me that you enjoy Mic’d so much.
It definitely doesn’t make enough money to support me, so it’s people like you that make it worth it. I will be updated Mic’d soon with a bunch of new features including iCloud support, the ability to pause a recording, etc. I hope to include the ability to launch the watch app already recording as well in an update soon.
      Cheers,
      Tim

  16. Just bought. Can you please reply to this post with list every type of info that this app sends over the Internet to someone (like you, google analytics, Facebook analytics, etc.)? Thus will hold us over until you can take a break long enough to setup your website with a real Privacy Policy (hint: I’d rather have you spend the time on coding new features and building up the app but do need to know basic info like this because of legal requirements where I’m at).

  17. Hello,

I had been using mic’d for the last few years with family sharing.
I have many recordings in the mic’d app, which are important.

Recently I moved to a different country and I had to change my appleid appstore setting to new country.
Now, when I tried to open mic’d, it says that I need to buy the app from the app store.

I don’t have any backup of the recordings anywhere else.
Will I still be having access to the recordings if I buy and install it again?

    Nervously waiting for your response
